Creating Your First Code
Ready to build your first dynamic campaign? Generation takes less than a minute. This guide walks you through the core steps from data entry to download.
How do I create a QR code?
- Log into your dashboard and click Create QR Code.
- Select the type of QR code you want (e.g., Website URL, vCard, PDF).
- Enter the required destination data.
- Customize the design (colors, frame, logo).
- Download the final asset in your preferred format (PNG, SVG, EPS).
1. Choose Your Data Type
The first step is deciding what you want your barcode to do. While a standard Website URL is the most common, QRTRAC supports highly specialized formats. Options include:
- App Store links that detect device OS
- vCard files to sync contact data instantly
- PDFs and Menus for contactless reading
2. Customizing the Design
A customized QR code receives up to 40% more scans than a standard black-and-white grid. Use the design panel to adjust the aesthetics safely:
- Color Palettes: Ensure there is high contrast between the background and the foreground pattern.
- Logo Upload: Place your brand mark in the center of the code. The system automatically adjusts error correction to ensure it remains scannable.
- Frames and Calls to Action: Add a border that says "Scan Me!" to increase conversion rates.
Tip: Always test your QR code with a smartphone camera straight from your computer monitor before you download and print it.
3. Downloading Formats
Depending on your use case, you should download the appropriate file type:
- PNG: Best for digital use, social media, and web sharing.
- SVG / EPS: Best for graphic designers and large-scale printing (billboards, vehicles). These are vector formats that scale infinitely without losing quality.
